Prior to relocating to Oklahoma City, Dr. Courtney Caplin completed a cosmetic surgery fellowship in Seattle which had a growing population of transgender patients. Top surgery, also known as chest reconstruction, is commonly performed as a part of the female to male (FTM) transitioning process, which involves surgically excising breast tissue and sculpting feminine fat pads via liposuction to create a masculine chest. Dr. Caplin preforms both the double incision mastectomy as shown here and the keyhole surgery depending on the amount of gland and skin laxity that the patient has, in addition to the patient's goals.
