The dermal filler, Radiesse, works first by supplying needed volume under the skin and over time, collagen production is stimulated. As a result, moderate to severe lines and folds around the nose and mouth are erased and the additional volume provides contouring. Since Radiesse is made from a substance naturally present in the body, calcium hydroxyapatite, it is absorbed and metabolized by the body for longer-lasting results. Cosmetic surgeons Dr. Erik Nuveen and Dr. Courtney Caplin in Oklahoma City inject this filler to provide their patients at Cosmetic Surgery Affiliates with results that can last well past a year.

"There is so much greatness to be said about my experience here, this little comment section will not due enough justice to what I need to express...so I'm just going to make a YouTube video😂......but to start, Dr. Courtney Caplin was my surgeon, she did her thang on my full tummy tuck and lipo! But these are the most personable, caring and down to earth surgeons that I have ever did a consult with, Im so Thankful that God put them in my path. The Bedside manner of Courtney is... above and beyond, I stayed at the overnight recovery center and let me tell you it was nice, first I had my husband and my two teenage boys with me, we are a close knit family so they all wanted to be with me, Do you know the staff had no problems with my two boys staying over with me and my husband😳...they made them feel so welcomed and at home, the girls even pulled out a blow up bed for them!!! The evening after my surgery Courtney came into the recovery room before going home and that's when I met Dr.Nuveen, he helped her put me in my compression garment...he talked to my husband and my boys and even took my oldest son to show him where extra sheets was if they needed them!!! ❤️ This place! I'm 11 days post op today and feel good, this waist is 👌🏾😜 popping...(minus the swelling..lol)"- O.H. / Facebook / May 11, 2019
"I would just like to take a min to thank dr naveen for going above and beyond to make sure I’m happy with my body. I have always had insecurities with my body and I haven’t been the easiest procedure. Back story, I use to be 300lbs and very unhappy with my hips. The way my body carries its weight it has caused many back issues. Dr Naveen is making sure to fix the weight pulling on my spin. We have another procedure coming up where he will be helping to remove and fix some issues after procedure one. He will do whatever it takes to make sure you’re happy!!! That right there wins me over!!!"- K.C. / Google / May 10, 2019

Radiesse is a quick procedure normally completed within 30 to 45 minutes depending on the size of the area being treated. The face will be thoroughly cleansed and then marked with ink so that the practitioner can conduct the injections with precision. A numbing cream is usually applied before the injection occurs. The gel is delivered using a fine needle into pockets just underneath the skin until the right volume is achieved.
What to Expect
After treatment, there may be redness, swelling and even bruising around the injection sites, but these go away after several hours. Patients will be able to resume their normal routine; although strenuous exercise should be limited for the first 24 hours. Patients will see their results immediately, and the results will continue to improve because Radiesse stimulates natural collagen growth, which is an agent for healthy skin.
Radiesse is priced per syringe. The average cost for a single syringe of product is around $700. The cost varies depending on how many syringes are used to attain the results the patient desires. This derma filler treatment is a temporary fix. Patients who wish to maintain their results will need to come back for additional treatments after one year.

Radiesse vs. Other Fillers?
There is an extensive selection of derma fillers available. Each filler has its own specific treatment to match the patient’s cosmetic issues. Whether naturally or artificially derived, these are all FDA approved, which means they are proven to be safe and effective. The one highlight of a Radiesse treatment is that aside from its volumizing capability it can function as a collagen stimulator. When collagen multiplies, it greatly benefits the skin tone. During the initial consultation, the face will be assessed and the appropriate filler will be recommended.
Is Radiesse Right For Me?
Several other derma fillers are manufactured using hyaluronic acid. Popular examples are Juvederm or Restylane. While these are great in adding volume back to facial depressions, Radiesse stands out as the only filler made of calcium-based microspheres, which have the ability to integrate with skin tissues and promote collagen growth. Every patient is unique and a treatment plan will be tailored to them that may include Radiesse, or another filler if the practitioner feels it will best benefit the patient.
Is It Risky?
Radiesse is FDA approved and backed by comprehensive testing. As it is derived from a substance that naturally occurs in the body, it poses no toxic risk. Temporary side effects may include redness, swelling, bruising, numbness or itching, which all subsides after a few days.
