While BOTOX is the most well-known injectable wrinkle relaxer, Xeomin is another brand of purified botulinum type A that can be the better choice for some patients. Like other wrinkle relaxers, Xeomin works by temporarily freezing the facial muscle whose frequent contractions are causing the patient's dynamic wrinkles in areas like the forehead or around the eyes and mouth. Oklahoma City cosmetic surgeons, Dr. Erik Nuveen and Dr. Courtney Caplin will listen to each patient during the consultation and based on the patient's needs, concerns, and aesthetic goals, they may suggest a treatment plan with Xeomin wrinkle relaxer injections. Patients in the Oklahoma City area who want to treat their wrinkles and other signs of facial aging are encouraged to visit Cosmetic Surgery Affiliates for a consultation and personalized treatment plan.
"Would give more stars if I could! Amazing group of people working here and very considerate, helpful, encouraging, and overall I had a even better experience than I could have ever expected. I'm very grateful for their opinions, timeliness, care, and most importantly my surgery outcome! Could not recommend a better plastic surgeon and staff!"- Anonymous / UCompareHealthcare / Nov 20, 2016

"My daughter is almost 16 and she had otoplasty (ear pinning). We’ve never experienced anything like this, so of course we both started researching. We was very satisfied with the results and I would definitely choose Dr. Nuveen again. I didn’t find a lot of reviews about this procedure.I don’t normally give reviews. But I wanted to give this one because we were so satisfied and it changed her complex about herself.I hope this review will help someone else.. ."- A.B. / Google / Jan 02, 2020
"Being hyper reactive to Epi and intolerant of Versed left me searching everywhere for a Doctor that would even talk to me about a Rhino. Dr Nuveen didn't even hesitate at my drug restrictions and preformed an amazing nose job & eye lift - WITHOUT any drug induced pain!!! The staff was excellent & attentive, Sonia was great and caught all my drug restrictions & took excellent care of me. Elite care with a reasonable price tag, I highly recommend checking CSA out before jumping."- G.A. / Yelp / Dec 30, 2019

Absolutely ELITE care, start to finish, if you are looking for the “right” Doctor, with the “right” facilities (at the right price) ... You owe it to yourself to check this place out"- G.A. / Google / Dec 24, 2019
What to Expect
Xeomin is an in-office procedure that is usually performed in less than 30 minutes. Prior to treatment, ink marks will be made to the injection sites on the face, and a fine needle will deliver the product directly into the skin. Xeomin is most effective in treating frown lines, crow’s feet, forehead furrows, and wrinkles around the chin area. There is no pain during the injection, but numbing creams may be applied to ease any discomfort caused by the injection prick. Mild swelling and redness may appear on the injection area, which usually subsides after a few hours. After a Xeomin treatment, there is no downtime, and most patients may resume normal activities.
The average cost for a single syringe of Xeomin is about $350. This cost is similar to both BOTOX and Dysport as well. Some patients will only require a single syringe of product, while others will need several in order to attain the results they desire. Additional treatments will be needed about once a quarter in order to maintain results.

Is BOTOX Better?
Xeomin is purely botulinum toxin type A unlike BOTOX (or Dysport), which has additives. This decreases the chances of the patient’s immunity to the medication. There is also the ease of distribution as Xeomin doesn’t require refrigeration. Other than that, both provide the same effect in treating facial cosmetic issues.
Is This Safe?
In the hands of a well-experienced practitioner, muscle relaxants are safe. The effects are also temporary, so if the patient is dissatisfied with the results, they can be rest assured that these results will not last forever. Xeomin has been proven by the FDA to be safe and effective to use.
Combined With Fillers?
A growing trend nowadays is a “liquid facelift” in which both muscle relaxers and derma fillers are combined in a single treatment. It is a noninvasive way of rejuvenating the facial appearance without surgery. Most patients who prefer this method believe the temporary and safe results outweigh the risks of a surgical procedure.
