Erik Nuveen, MD, DMD
Triple-Board Certified Cosmetic Surgeon
Dr. Nuveen’s unique journey in the medical field began early. Born in 1967 in Philadelphia alongside his twin brother, he was raised by a mother who was an active dental hygienist and a father who was in orthodontic residency at the prestigious University of Pennsylvania. This early exposure to the medical field, coupled with his innate passion, set the stage for his remarkable career in cosmetic surgery.
Competitive always but a best friend forever, twins share a unique perspective. We know no other relationship, as we have always had each other. Their close relationship has enabled them constant advancement and vision in business, investment, travel, and strategic planning; the value could never be overstated. Dr. Nuveen and his brother temporarily parted ways for college at their parents’ insistence. Dr. Nuveen often drove the 4.0 hours to spend a weekend with his brother to get some brother time in. They then reconnected to the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. Dr. E. Nuveen went on to an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency beginning at the U.C.L.A. Harbor Medical Center in Torrence, CA, and then completion at the Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH. He then completed his second graduate degree in medicine there as well. Because of his advanced status enrollment in medical school, he was provided 14 months of his clinical requirements to be fulfilled with craniofacial, microvascular, cosmetic, and pediatric plastic surgery. He did an additional year in general surgery at Hershey Penn State Medical Center. And finally, a formal fellowship in General and Facial Cosmetic Surgery in Salt Lake City, Utah. In total, 14 years after college, with a singular devotion to excellence in facial and general cosmetic surgery as a career.
With an impressive track record of over 26,000 major cosmetic surgeries since 2003, Dr. Nuveen’s experience is a testament to his skill and expertise. His practice has evolved and matured, yet his passion for two areas of focus, massive weight loss management and facial restoration remains. This wealth of experience and dedication instills confidence in his abilities, making him a trusted choice for patients seeking cosmetic surgery.
Dr. Nuveen’s professional achievements are a testament to his expertise and leadership in cosmetic surgery. He remains an accredited fellowship director and actively participates in residency education associated with the University of Oklahoma Health Center and the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. His contributions to the field are not limited to his practice and education. He has published ten textbook chapters and 28 first-author publications, reflecting his commitment to sharing knowledge and advancing the field. Currently, he is the Founder and co-CEO of Olympus Cosmetic Group, a venture focused on consolidating elective surgery practices throughout the United States, further demonstrating his entrepreneurial spirit and vision.
He enjoys college wrestling, flying airplanes, and fishing offshore whenever possible. He is also the proud father of Diederik, a 3-year-old boy, and Cooper, a 17-year-old boy.
