Tessa Meyer, MD
Fellowship Trained Cosmetic Surgeon
As the most recent addition to our practice, Dr. Tessa M. Meyer, MD, has experienced an exciting and successful start to what she anticipates will be a busy, challenging, and abundantly rewarding career at Cosmetic Surgery Affiliates.
She proudly accepted the formal title and position of Associate Cosmetic Surgeon after completing her Surgical Fellowship at CSA under the training, teaching, and guidance of Dr. Nuveen and Dr. Caplin themselves. She comes from a General Surgery background, recently completing her five-year residency at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, affording her comprehensive and robust experience and knowledge in various surgical specialties, including Trauma, Thoracic, Vascular, Endocrine, Gastrointestinal, Transplant, Minimally Invasive, and Plastic Surgery. As a junior resident, she lead the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit during the heat of the Pandemic, and as a senior resident, lead the Trauma Resuscitation Unit at SHOCK Trauma in Baltimore, MD.
She was honored at her residency graduation with the Attending’s Choice, Chief Resident of the Year Award in recognition of her outstanding surgical and medical competence, as well as with the Patient Advocacy Award, in recognition of her unmatched dedication to her patients and overriding benevolence as a physician. Her unique skill set and training background allows her to manage her patients thoughtfully and thoroughly, and brings a certain degree of versatility to the practice, all the while continue to appreciate, learn from, parallel, and compliment the expertise of her senior colleagues.
Despite the broadness of her surgical training, Dr. Meyer has always had a deeply vested interest in Cosmetic Surgery. She is a precisionist at heart with a keen eye for detail and is inspired by the creativity, ingenuity, knowledge, and accuracy required to achieve excellent esthetic results. She takes extreme pride in her work and holds herself to the highest of standards. She loves to learn about her patients, build an open and positive relationship, and understand their goals and desires. The care and compassion she has for her patients stems from the reciprocated love and devotion she has towards her family, while her focus and dedication to excellence derives from like attributes developed throughout her vibrant soccer career, competing at the varsity, provincial, and National team level.
Prior to obtaining her medical degree at St. George’s University, while completing her undergraduate education at Trinity Western University, she pursued opportunities to go on three separate missions trips with her varsity soccer team, feeding her passion for travel, community and global outreach, and cultural diversification. In addition to soccer, Dr. Meyer enjoys many outdoor recreational activities including running, hiking, water sports, and mountain sports, all of which she was able to enjoy in abundance growing up along the Pacific Coast in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. She is proud of her roots, but has found a special home in Oklahoma City, with her caring and supportive team at CSA.
