Kick Off Your Breast Reduction Journey
You’ll first meet with one of our surgeons during your initial breast reduction consultation. At this appointment, your surgeon will ask about your reasons for wanting a breast reduction and some of the difficulties you face on a day-to-day basis.
Your surgeon will also conduct an examination to determine how much tissue they’ll need to remove from your breasts to achieve your aesthetic goals. They’ll also ask about your medical history and medications you’re currently taking to reduce your risk for complications.
The Procedure Process
Your surgeon will begin your breast reduction procedure by administering IV sedation or general anesthetic. They’ll then make incisions around the nipple, areola, and down each breast. These incisions allow them to remove excess breast tissue and fat, reducing and reshaping your breasts.
To finish, your surgeon will reset the nipple and areola before closing your incisions and applying gauze bandages. Most breast reductions take approximately 90 minutes to complete. Your surgeon will also provide a detailed guide of post-procedure instructions for you to follow throughout your recovery.
