Cosmetic nose surgery (rhinoplasty) is an aesthetic procedure performed to improve the look of the nose. In addition, rhinoplasty can help correct functionality in some patients. Drs. Erick Nuveen and Courtney Caplin are seasoned cosmetic face and nose surgeons who offer rhinoplasty, taking a subtle approach to producing the most beautiful and natural-looking outcomes. While rhinoplasty consists of slight changes, results usually are quite dramatic. Rhinoplasty at Cosmetic Surgery Affiliates is used to make a nose look smaller or enhance a nose that is too large or wide. The goal is to produce a more aesthetically pleasing nose that meets your goals and functions as it should. "My experience may be a little different in that I was told about him not for cosmetic surgery, but health related. Over my past 50 plus years I have had two different surgeries to improve my being able to breathe through my nose and neither resulted in satisfaction. After my sister had as well been through several surgeries to fix her collapsed nose from a head on auto accident, she was told of Dr. Nuveen. After seeing her success with him I went to have him help me as well. He took cartilage from my ears and rebuilt my collapsed septum so for the first time in my life I can actually breath through my nose. He has been a Godsend and as great of a surgeon as he is, I'd say appears to be even a better person. It is so obvious how much he genuinely cares about your well being and will give you as much time of his as you need, always taking your calls personally. Not many doctors can say that. I feel truly indebted to him and willing to share my experience with anyone, not as much for his well being as what they'd receive from him. He doesn't need my or our help, quite the opposite. A great doctor and a better man......."- Anonymous / Vitals / May 24, 2011
"Rhinoplasty - I am very pleased with the results of my rhinopasty. Within two weeks after surgery, my nose looks even better than I'd hoped. I couldn't be happier!"- A.H. / Vitals / Jan 06, 2014
"I am thrilled with the results of my surgery (septo/rhino). The functionality is greatly improved and the appearance is improved."- Anonymous / RateMDs / Sep 07, 2012
"Dr. Nuveen fixed my nose. I had a deviated septum and was unhappy with the appearance of it. He made it GORGEOUS! But on top of that, my (now ex) boyfriend headbutted me (accidentally) three days after surgery. My nose was gushing blood and I feared I had re-broken it. Dr. Nuveen was at another office out of town and Dr. Miller answered my frantic calls and met me at the practice late at night in his PJ pants to check me out. He fixed my nose AGAIN free of charge! I have never been happier - my asthma and breathing problems are gone, my appearance is 100% better...Dr. Nuveen said "You're a masterpiece" when he took my splint off. Well, Dr. Nuveen's work made it possible. BLESS THIS MAN!"- Anonymous / RateMDs / Apr 29, 2011

This surgery is performed under general anesthesia and typically requires at least one night's stay in the hospital. The time of the surgery can be lengthy, lasting anywhere from 4 – 7 hours. The incision is usually made along the area where a belt is worn, which is why it is sometimes known as a circumferential 360 or in some cases, a beltectomy. Once the incision is precisely made by one of our surgeons, lipo will eliminate areas of excess fat and loose skin will be excised. Then the remaining skin will be stretched taut and secured with sutures. Compression garments may be placed over the incisions to help create a trimmer result, as well as to minimize bleeding, swelling, and bruising.
During/After Your Surgery
One-stage body lifts are classified as a major cosmetic procedure. It takes many patients around two weeks to resume basic activities, and in certain patients, up to six months before getting back to more strenuous movements such as exercise. The Cosmetic Surgery Affiliates team will discuss post-recovery instructions and provide you with information on wound care so that scars fade well for the best results. While the recovery may feel lengthy, the results are extraordinary, leaving patients with a tighter, smoother body without the loose, hanging skin that prevented them from living a full life. Many patients feel it's one of the most worthwhile cosmetic procedures offered today.

How much does a lower body lift cost?
The cost of a one-stage body lift procedure will vary for each patient. During your consultation, one of our surgeons will create a highly customized treatment plan that includes all of the procedures needed to help you reach your goals. Cosmetic Surgery Affiliates accepts several payment methods, including low-interest medical financing to make your surgical lift as easy to afford as possible.
Will I have visible scarring?
A few factors will determine the visibility of scarring you have after a one-stage body lift. Our surgeons plan incisions points so they can be easily concealed by undergarments or in less visible areas like the natural skin folds. Our team will provide you with aftercare instructions, including how to help your incisions heal correctly so the scars are smooth and eventually blend with your normal skin.
What can I expect during recovery?
Following a one-stage body lift procedure, you might have moderate bruising and inflammation around the treatment areas. Appointments for follow-up exams will be necessary so we can monitor your process. It is crucial that you contact our facility if you see any signs of infection or you have any concerns.
When should I consider getting a one-stage body lift?
If you're considering a one-stage body lift, schedule a consultation at Cosmetic Surgery Affiliates to learn more about the process and the right time for you to get one. You need to be at or close to a healthy, stable weight, since losing or gaining a lot of weight once you've had a lift can alter your results. Prior to surgery, one of our surgeons will also complete a physical examination to ensure that you're strong enough to recover properly.
Will I have to stay overnight in the hospital?
Most often, we recommend patients spend a minimum of one night in a medical facility following a body lift surgery of this magnitude. This inpatient stay is to ensure your comfort and safety, so your health can be monitored and your pain and be controlled. Based on how many areas are being treated and your recovery speed, we may recommend you stay multiple nights. During your consultation, a member of our team will discuss where and how long we think you may need to stay.
