Hi-Def Body Sculpting & Its Out Of This World Results

Here’s an interesting fact for you; women are using their arms, upper body, and torso much more than their historical counterparts (thanks, CrossFit!), and the desire to just be thin has taken a backseat for the aesthetic desire to be strong.  In many women, the muscles are there, but that stubborn layer of fat is covering them up.  For some, childbirth has forced the stomach muscles to separate (Diastasis Recti), making a flat tummy seem like a pipe dream. Naturally, the search for new ways to show off hard-earned musculature begins with a lot of research.  And here’s where it becomes overwhelming.  There are so many body procedures available, both surgical and non-surgical.  We at Cosmetic Surgery Affiliates offer sixteen different surgical procedures just on the body area alone.  To simplify, terms like Full Body Lift, One-Stage Body Lift, 360 Body Lift—they all roughly mean the same thing.  It’s a Torsoplasty.  And all of them fall under the category of “Body Contouring or Body Sculpting” which consists of several procedures which remove, tighten, and lift skin to produce a smoother, more toned appearance.

So, let’s talk about surgical Body Contouring/Sculpting.  The body can be transformed through a number of cosmetic procedures all over the body, including the stomach, arms, breasts, buttocks, thighs, and hips. Wherever there is excess fat, our surgeons can contour the body’s shape utilizing liposuction, skin excision, and possible augmentation/lift/implantation to create your ideal shape. Procedures are combined and scheduled in stages depending on the overall physical health of the patient and the body areas that need to be addressed, which is discussed during your consultation.  Typically, the grouping will be staged with a combination of either the upper body (abdomen, breasts, arms, neck, face), or lower body  (buttocks, thighs, flanks, knees). This staging helps reduce the risk of complications, such as blood loss and infection, since the surgery is limited to an area. This also shortens the recovery time. In terms of what to expect, a lower body lift surgery lasts about 4 hours, depending on the number of procedures needed/desired. The procedure is performed with general anesthesia and requires an overnight stay in a hospital or accredited surgical facility like ours.

You may, however, not need a full body lift.  You may want just some light contouring to be able to better define your abdomen, your arms, or your buttocks. While there are many non-surgical options on the market claiming to kill fat from pills and Velcro garments to devices that freeze your fat to kill it, (it doesn’t—please research all the options before committing) Liposuction remains the best option to permanently get rid of fat.  And even in that arena, technology has improved right along with our TVs to offer a Hi-Def option.  Seriously.  The rise in that desire for a more toned-looking physique led to advances in contouring procedures, and “high-definition liposuction” was born.  Utilizing ultrasound technology in a liposuction procedure allows doctors to literally melt fat to a liquid state for easier removal which allows for incredible muscle definition in addition to creating a much leaner outcome.

And yes, you read that correctly.  It.  Melts.  Fat.  So, I went into full Velma mode and checked out this mystical magical fat-melting machine.  The VASER…ooooooh…aaaaaaaaah…

VASER is an acronym for Vibration Amplification of Sound Energy of Resonance. VASER (HD Lipo) uses ultrasonic waves to break up, liquify, and then separate fat cells, allowing the surgeon to shape the body by removing fat deposits completely. Utilizing this technique achieves natural, beautiful results that last.

I immediately went to Dr. Nuveen to see if he knew about this magic wand that melts fat in the body. Then he offhandedly tells me we’ve had a VASER machine for years, just got a new model, and he loves the results.  Men.
