Breast Augmentation Reviews
"southfork73 - Was refered to Dr. Nuveen by a co worker in 2004. Very satisfied! People are always asking if my boobs are real? I just tell them that there really mine. And well they really are...LOL. He did a great job."- K. / Yellowpages / Aug 14, 2010
"I love CSA! My first surgery was something I had wanted for a long time, a breast augmentation. I was extremely nervous because I had never had any type of surgery before, but Dr. Nuveen and his staff were right there to help every step of the way! Most recently, I have gotten laser hair removal with Melissa and even though I have only went through two sessions with her so far, I can already see results! Melissa is very easy to talk to and is very concerned about how my body is doing with the procedure; I could not be any happier with her and this company as a whole!"- K. / Google / Feb 07, 2015
"Dr. Nuveen and his staff far exceeded my expectations! I had my breast augmentation at 8AM, and at 8PM, Dr. Nuveen called my caregiver to check in on me and see how I was doing. From his own personal cell phone, after hours, might I add! What other doctor have you heard does that?!! Hannah was more than helpful in answering every single little question I had. By the time it was my surgery day, I was not even nervous! They did such an amazing job preparing me in what to expect and how single and sufficient the process would be! I would do it all over again today if needed! I will be back for any other procedures I may desire in the future! Thank you so much to Dr. Nuveen & all your staff for making this experience wonderful!"- E.N. / Google / Apr 07, 2015
"I had a breast augmentation and lift by Dr. Nuveen a few years ago, so when I decided to look into Exilis Elite I was thrilled to see that they offered it at his office. I couldn't be more pleased with my results and the friendly service of the staff. They are highly professional and genuinely care about their patients and their results (Melissa the laser tech was awesome!). I would recommend them over and over again to anyone who is looking into cosmetic surgery and non invasive procedures."- B.E. / Google / May 07, 2015
"Had a breast augmentation last June! I'm totally satisfied! I'm actually saving to get bigger implants (Dr said I would probably want to go bigger!!) I should have listened!!! Oh well at least I know what I'm getting into and can't wait!!!!!"- T.L. / Yelp / May 28, 2015
Saline vs Silicone Implants
During your consultation at Cosmetic Surgery Affiliates, one of our surgeons will help you select the implant most appropriate for you based on your body size, shape, and aesthetic goals. Breast implants are made in varying shapes, sizes, profiles, and textures — each of which are considered carefully in order to achieve the specific look you wish to achieve. The most commonly chosen breast implants are silicone or saline, both widely popular and approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). An important thing to note is that candidates considering saline breast implants must be 18 years old, while patients must be 22 years of age in order to undergo surgery with silicone. Two other types of augmentations include a form-stable implant known as a gummy bear implant and an autologous approach through fat grafting. In addition to the type of implant used, there are other notable factors to decide.
Implant size is distinguished based on the number of CCs of silicone or saline to be used. To pick the right amount, our surgeons will measure how much original tissue exists and assess the size you hope to achieve. During surgery, it is common for Drs. Nuveen or Caplin to temporarily switch out various implants to get an idea on a better fit.

Incision type, as well as implant placement, are items that are discussed prior to your surgery. During the procedure, an incision is created and then the implant will be slipped into place. There are a couple of methods that may be used for implant placement. These include either submuscular placement (under the pec muscle) or submammary/subglandular placement (over the pec muscle). Where our surgeons will place the implants will be based on numerous factors, including the type and degree of implant enlargement. Regardless of the type of incision created, scarring is generally minimal as our surgeons are highly skilled in discreet incision placement.
During/After Breast Aug
Your breast augmentation will be performed as an outpatient surgery using general anesthesia. After creating the incision(s), the appropriate implant will be inserted through (and deposited into) a surgically created pocket, before being placed into its proper position. Following the placement of the implant, the incision is closed with sutures or surgical adhesives. All patients will be taken into a recovery area and carefully monitored and screened before being released. You will be sent home wearing a medical sports bra to assist with swelling. Within a few days, the swelling will start to dissipate, and your breasts will begin to feel normal as they adjust to their new position. While individual results vary, most patients can resume normal activities within several days; however, exercise should be avoided for at least 6 – 8 weeks. Breast enhancement surgery produces beautiful outcomes that look and feel normal. This treatment in most cases can be life-changing for many individuals, allowing them the chance to feel more confident.

Breast Augmentation FAQs
How much does breast augmentation cost?
The cost of your surgery could vary depending on your choices and whether you are combining additional procedures. When your treatment plan is created, a member of our team will go over estimated costs as well as financing options. To make sure you are happy with your results and they last a long time, it is better to focus on the quality provided by a qualified surgeon versus the price.
Do I need a breast lift or augmentation?
Your plan might include implants, a lift, or both. Breast lift surgery removes loose skin and raises the breasts, while implants enhance the shape and size. At your consultation with one of our surgeons, we will listen to your concerns and goals before discussing your treatment options. An augmentation and/or breast lift are usually included in a mommy makeover to revitalize the breasts after breastfeeding and pregnancy.
Can I breastfeed with implants?
If you might want to breastfeed after augmentation surgery, let Dr. Nuveen or Dr. Caplin know during your consultation. It's usually possible to breastfeed after augmentation surgery, with the right placement and technique. Breastfeeding and pregnancy can affect your results, which is why it is better to wait until your family is complete to get breast surgery.
Can I have my implants removed?
You might decide that you would like to remove or replace your implants at a later date. Or perhaps it is time for old implants to be removed and replaced. Cosmetic Surgery Affiliates offers breast revision surgery. During revision surgery, your old implants will be either replaced with different implants or removed. If you want to have your implants removed, you might need to have a breast lift to address stretched skin.
Do implants cause breast cancer?
The FDA (Food and Drug Administration) is investigating a link between implants and ALCL (anaplastic large cell lymphoma). This isn't breast cancer; it is a cancer of the immune system. According to WHO (the World Health Organization), implant-related ALCL is very rare and when caught early, highly treatable. Our team encourages all patients with implants to get frequent screenings for breast cancer. You should contact Cosmetic Surgery Affiliates if you see notice anything of concern, such as swelling after healing is complete.
